Lower Castle Description
(Local Name: Unteres Schloss) On the right bank of the Elster in Greiz lies the old town, with the Unteres Schloss (originally 13th C.; remodeled in neo-classical style in 1802-09 after a fire). Some early 19th C furnishings have been preserved. The annex, with tower (1885-86), is now occupied by the Heimatmuseum.
