Pyrgos Attractions
The busy commercial town of Pyrgos in Elis (western Peloponnese) is believed to occupy the site of ancient Letrinoi. Most visitors see it only on the way to Olympia, 21km/13mi east.

Port
The port of Pyrgos is Katákolo, 13km/8mi west of the town (sand and shingle beach), on the site of ancient Pheia. On the acropolis of Pheia is the Póndiko Kástro, a castle built by the Villehardouins in the 13th century. There are good bathing beaches north of Katákolo in the direction of Kyllíni.
