Four km/2.5mi northwest of Adámas is the chief place on the island of Mílos. Mílos or Pláka (alt. 200m/655ft; pop. 900) has an interesting little museum. On the way up to the Venetian fortress on top of the hill is the notable church of the Panayía Thalassítras.
