Willow Tea Room
When in 1902 Catherine Cranston opened her cafe on the first floor of 217 Sauchiehall Street, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife designed everything for her, right down to the menu. Extensive restoration work was carried out in the early 1980s and the cafe was re-opened in 1983. A wide choice of teas is available served in a stylish ambiance.
Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
Sir Leslie Martin provided the design for Glasgow's new concert hall (completed in 1990). An audience of almost 2,500 can listen to the Royal Scottish Orchestra in its new home. On the south side, shops line the circular concourse.
Museum of the Royal Highland Fusiliers
The building at 518 Sauchiehall Street houses the Regimental Museum of the Royal Highland Fusiliers. Displays cover uniforms, arms and paintings illustrating the regiment's history.
