Ghent - Museum Arnold van der Haeghen
The Museum van der Haeghen is to be found at Veldstraat No. 82. The building dates from 1741 and was first the residence of an industrialist; in 1815 the Duke of Wellington lived here. From 1836 it housed the printing press of the van der Haeghen family.
The Arnold van der Haeghen Museum comprises the Maeterlinck cabinet and the Stuyvaert cabinet.
The Maeterlinck cabinet contains personal artifacts, the library and a manuscript collection of the writer and Nobel prize winner Maurice Maeterlinck (1862-1949).
Victor Stuyvaert was a graphic artist from Ghent, part of his work is on show in a cabinet named after him.
