Wenningstedt Attractions
From the seaside resort of Westerland, near Sylt, a road runs 18km/11mi north to Wenningstedt (pop. 2,200), with a long beach, treatment facilities and the "Hun's grave" (megalithic chamber tomb) of Denghoog.

Beyond Wenningstedt is the seaside resort of Kampen (pop. 1,100), with reed-thatched houses, "Huns' graves," a bird-watchers' hide and the 4km/2.5mile long Rotes Kliff (Red Cliff), which falls sheer to the sea from a height of up to 27m/89ft. The road then continues through the Listland nature reserve (large dunes).

On the east side of the island of Sylt, near its northern tip, lies the resort of List (pop. 3,200). It lies on the south side of the Königshafen (now silted up), which is enclosed on the north by the 4km/2.5mile long strip of land known as the Ellenbogen ("Elbow"; two lighthouses). Car ferry to the Danish island of Rømø.
