Warnemunde Attractions

Warnemünde, originally a small fishing village, was bought by the Town Council of Rostock from the Prince of Mecklenburg in 1323, and until the 20th C. was administered by a governor appointed by the Council.
Lighthouse
The picturesque street called the Alter Graben leads to the Warnemünde lighthouse (1897-98) and the West Pier.
Local Museum
A typical 18th C. fisherman's house in Theodor-Körner-Strasse houses the Warnemünde Heimatmuseum, which illustrates the life and customs of the local seamen and fishermen.
