4km/2.5mi east, on a wooded conical hill in the Neckar Valley, is the charming little town of Dilsberg, with the ruins of an old castle (open to visitors); magnificent view from castle walls.

From here the road continues to Heidelberg and Mannheim, where the Neckar flows into the Rhine.
