Burghausen Attractions
On a hill above Burghausen, 17km/10.5mi southeast of Altötting, is the imposing Burg, one of the largest castles in Germany, fully 1km/0.75mi long from end to end. At the entrance is the Municipal Museum of Photography (Städtisches Fotomuseum). Within the castle itself are the Municipal Historical Museum and an outstation of the Bavarian State Galleries (Late Gothic painting from Bavaria).

With its handsome burghers' houses, the old town of Burghausen, which is almost completely preserved, is very typical of the towns of the Inn and Salzach valleys.
Around the Wöhrsee lies a landscape reserve and recreation area (bathing station).
