Bad Blankenburg Attractions

In Bad Blankenburg's Johannisgasse can be found the Fröbel Memorial Museum, opened in 1982 on the 200th anniversary of Fröbel's birth. There are many other Fröbel memorials and associations in the town.

In the village of Oberweissbach is the house in which Fröbel was born, now a museum.

In the Markt in Bad Blankenburg is the 15th C Town Hall, with the "Hungermännchen" (a figure with an inscription recording the high price of grain in the 14th C), the old Schwarzburg coat of arms and a tablet commemorating the educationalist Friedrich Fröbel (Froebel), who worked in the town in 1837-39.
