Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park is a 1,322-acre park that was designed in 1946 as a memorial to Georgia's war veterans. The park contains a lake, an 18-hole golf course, a small museum, and displays of military equipment.

The Roddenbery Memorial Library in Cairo offers information on the cultural and natural history of the area. Also on display are changing art exhibits.

The Pebble Hill Plantation in Thomasville began in 1827 when the original house was built. In 1850 the original structure was replaced with a new house which was mostly destroyed in a 1934 fire. The east wing of the house was saved, along with many of the furnishings, and incorporated into the new mansion which still stands.The main house features collections of art, 19th Century furniture, porcelain, silver, crystal, and glassware.The plantation is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Agrirama in Tifton has four areas - a traditional farm of the 1870's, a progressive farm of the 1890's, an industrial site and a rural town.The complex consists of late 1800s buildings which have been relocated to this site and restored. Costumed interpreters provide a glimpse of life from this time period as they go about their daily chores. A logging train offers rides with views of the complex and surrounding area.

The Blue and Gray Museum in Fitzgerald is located in an old railroad depot. It features 1200 objects on display relating to the Union and Confederate soldiers of the Civil War.
