Description
Southeast of Arnhem, in the angle between the Rhine and the Waal, is the castle of Doornenburg, which was reduced to rubble during the Second World War. Now restored, it ranks with Muiderslot (Muiden) and Loevenstein (Gorinchem) as one of the finest medieval castles in the Netherlands.
