Kushida Shrine Description
Kushida Shrine is a well-known Shinto shrine and is Fukuoka's oldest. Founded in 757, the shrine features carvings of the Chinese zodiac and a gingko tree that claims to be 1,000 years old. Each year in July, the shrine hosts the Yamakasa Festival - an event to pray for good health and prosperity. Highlights of the festival include the elaborate floats.
