Description
Immediately north of Fribourg's Place Notre-Dame is the Franciscan friary with a church (Eglise des Cordeliers; choir 1281, nave 1745-46). It contains some notable works of art, including an altarpiece by the "Master of the Carnation" (1481), a predella with a painting by Hans Fries, "The Death of the Usurer" (1506), and a carved and gilded wooden triptych (ca. 1513).
