Ste Agnes Attractions

A narrow winding mountain road leads north-west from Menton to Ste-Agnès (11km/7mi), a "village perché", in a most attractive situation with picturesque stepped streets. The hamlet is the starting-point for fine walks in the mountains, including the ascent of the Pic de Baudon (1,264m/4,148ft; two-three hours), a climb which in places is very arduous but which rewards the climber with good views.
The small cobblestone streets of Ste-Agnès date back to 15th century. It is the highest seaside village in Europe and receives about 50, 000 visitors each year.
