The Fort Museum of the North West Mounted Police (Fort Museum) Description
Built in 1957 at 25 St./3rd Ave., the Fort MacLeod Museum sets out to portray the Northwest Mounted Police fort built in 1874 and southern Alberta's first outpost; this is achieved by means of some original buildings, Indian tepees made of buffalo hide, exhibitions about the police, the lifestyle and history of the Blackfoot Indians and pioneers, and the story behind the fortifications.

In July and August a police patrol wearing the 1878 scarlet uniforms rides through the streets four times a day.
