Vero Beach has numerous beaches and nearby waters for swimming, scuba diving, boating, fishing, and other water sports. It is also home to the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team for spring training. Exhibition games are played from March to early April at Holman Stadium.
Indian River Citrus Museum was established in the late 1800s. Artifacts, photographs and memorabilia of the pioneers tell the story of the Indian River citrus commercial industry.
Behind the plant is a bird lover's paradise filled with frigatebirds, white herons, great egrets, night herons, roseate spoonbills, ibis, wood storks, bald eagles, black-necked stilts, terns, kingbirds and grackle. The observation deck and tower will allow for a closer look into the treetops.
The home was constructed of locally milled Florida pine in about 1910. A good example of Florida's historic "cracker" style of vernacular architecture. It has two stories, approximately 1,400 square feet, and is furnished with belongings that were in the home at the time of her death.
Laura (Riding) Jackson was recognized in the Who's Who in 20th Century Literature as, "the most consistently good woman poet of all time," and was awarded the prestigious Bollingen Prize for her poetry in 1991, the year of her death.
Founded in 1929 as the McKee Jungle Gardens, this botanical garden was closed from 1976 to the year 2000. The original 80-acre plot has been reduced to 18, but it still offers a good example of native Florida plant life as well as exotic species.

The Vero Beach Museum of Art is a cultural arts facility that features five art galleries, sculpture garden, an education wing with seven studio classrooms, an art library, seminar rooms, an outdoor studio and foundry, and a 250-seat auditorium.
