Space Coast is a 72-mile stretch of beach offering a variety of outdoor and water-based activities. This region is home to the Kennedy Space Center and the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame.
Eustis Historic Museum, Eustis, Florida
Eustis Historical Museum, located in the Clifford House, features numerous historical displays. The house was the residence of an early settler, G. D. Clifford, a merchandiser featuring 6 fireplaces, brass fixtures and the original cast iron sink. Mr Clifford was a significant motivating force to the growth of Eustis.
Melbourne, Florida
Melbourne was established in the 1860s by black freed men and named for the hometown of the Australian postmaster in 1879. Space Coast Stadium in Melbourne is home to the Florida Marlins for spring training.
Brevard Art Museum (formerly Brevard Museum of Art and Science)
The Brevard Art Museum is located in the historical district of Old Eau Gallie. Internationally known and regional artists are on display in the museum representing a variety of styles, periods, and media. The Children's Science Center was added in 1995 and features more than 30 hands-on exhibits related to the physical sciences.
Brevard Zoo
The Brevard Zoo opened to the public in 1994 after more than 16,000 volunteers brought the dream to reality. The boardwalks of the zoo leads visitors through Latin America, Native Florida and Australia. An outback habitat and free flight aviary are featured with over 400 animals. An adventure playground for children and adults has interactive exhibits.
Liberty Bell Memorial Museum
The Liberty Bell Memorial Museum focuses on the full-size replica of the original Liberty Bell. Artifacts and memorabilia from all American wars, model warships and airplanes, weapons, and a gallery of U.S. flags are displayed. Numerous other items such as full-size photographic reproductions of important documents, clothing, and local history round out the displays at the Liberty Bell Memorial Museum.
Titusville, Florida
Named for its founder, Col. Henry T. Titus on 1874. Titusville was once a shipping point for citrus and a commercial fishing port.The Kennedy Space Center has made this small mainland city a popular tourism area.
Black Point Wildlife Drive
Black Point Wildlife Drive is a seven-mile one-way driving loop which is a premier birding spot in Florida. There are numbered stops along the way which are described in a brochure available at the entrance. During the winter months, the northern shoveler, American wigeon, northern pintail, ring-necked and ruddy duck are common. Cruickshank Tower located at Stop 8 offers a view of the surrounding marshes from a 10 foot tower.
Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge
Wintering migratory waterfowls call Merritt Island Refuge home. Educational displays, wildlife exhibits and a video about the refuge are found at the visitor center. Visitors can take a walk over a pond, through an oak hammock to a freshwater marsh.
Canaveral National Seashore
The Canaveral National Seashore is on a barrier island and offers a variety of plant and animal life as well as recreation activities. 150 archaeological sites have been uncovered, some of these sites date as far back as 3,000 years BC.
Valiant Air Command Warbird Air Museum
The Valiant Air Command Warbird Air Museum features aviation memorabilia such as model planes, uniforms, and controls from various aircraft.A changing collection of restored planes in running condition are featured in a hangar and a ramp.
Port Canaveral, Florida
Port Canaveral is the world's only quadramodal port. Recreational activities such as fishing, swimming, camping and surfing are available.
