Florence - Palazzo Nonfinito / Museum of Mankind
(Local Name: Palazzo Nonfinito / Museo di Antropologia ed Etnologia) The Palazzo Nonfinito is, as its name implies, unfinished, a fact belied by its exterior. Alessandro Strozzi commissioned the architect Bernardo Buontalenti to build a new town house for his family near the Palazzo Pazzi. Neither Buontalenti nor his successors, however, were able to complete the large building with the beautiful inner courtyard.
Since 1869 the Palazzo has housed the Museo Nazionale di Antropologia ed Etnologia (Museum of Mankind) with anthropological and ethnological collections from all over the world.
