Archbishops Palace Description
(Local Name: Palazzo Arcivescovile) The Archbishop's Palace was built between 1573 and 1584 by Giovanni Antonio Dosio for Cardinal Alessandro Medici who later became Pope Leo XI, but it was not finally completed until 1735, by Ciurini. During this long period it developed into a mixture of medieval and "modern" elements.

In 1895 the whole palace was moved back 50 yards to make room for the city's growing traffic.
