Kuhmo Attractions
From Vuokatti it is 66km/41mi to Kuhmo, a small town in the barren territory of eastern Finland which has become world-famous for the Chamber Music Festival held annually in July. The town's most notable building is the New Library (by Nurmela, Raimoranta and Tasa, 1989) on the banks of the Pajakka rapids, an outstanding example of contemporary Finnish architecture.
