Ilomantsi Attractions

71km/44mi east of Joensuu on Road 74 is Ilomantsi, with a wooden Orthodox church - the largest in Finland. The church is dedicated to the prophet Elias. At Möhkö (20km/12.5mi east of Ilomantsi, on the Russian frontier) is an industrial museum in which old methods of smelting iron ore are demonstrated. To the southeast lies the Petkeljärvi National Park (visitor center, waymarked trail).
