Fargo is the largest city in the state of North Dakota. While rarely regarded as a tourist destination Fargo is a key economic center in the state and consequently has a fine assortment of accommodation. Fargo hotels tend to be chain hotels ranging from budget to more luxurious establishments.
One of the top choices among hotels in Fargo is The Donaldson. Originally built as an Odd Fellows Lodge in 1893, the hotel has been extensively renovated and is now one of Fargo's hot spots. The hotel has a popular restaurant called the HoDo and on the roof is a lounge where you can enjoy views of the prairie sky. The Donaldson is located right in the center of downtown Fargo and close to the major attractions including Plains Art Museum, the Red River Zoo, and the Roger Maris Baseball Museum.
Another great choice when it comes to Fargo hotels is the Kelly Inn on Main. This hotel is set on an expansive property and provides lodge style accommodation. In the summer months the hotel has an outdoor pool and during the winter an indoor pool and whirlpool is available. Of all the Fargo hotels, the Kelly Inn on Main has some of the easiest access off of Interstate 29.
There are several attractions located outside the city center. Some popular family fun spots are the Rheult Farm and the Children's Museum at Yunker Farm.
