East Falkland Island

East Falkland Island is the primary island in the archipelago, and home to the most populated settlements. Stanley, the capital of the Falkland Islands, is located on East Falkland and is the usual entry point for most visitors.

The island covers 7039.5sq.km/4364.5sq.mi of mainly rugged and hilly terrain with the exception of the Lefonia plain in the south. The coastline is indented with bays and inlets. The island is home to some 163 varieties of plants and 21 types of land birds.
