Esterel - Corniche de l'Esterel

The Corniche de l'Esterel (N98) is a charming road which winds its way along the rocky coast between St-Raphaël and Cannes. It runs through the resort of Boulouris, passes the impressive Cap du Drammont (lighthouse; offshore the little Ile d'Or) and the village of Agay which has a fine situation on a bay; on the Pointe de la Baumette is a memorial to the aviator and writer Antoine de St-Exupéry.

The road then continues through Anthéor with the Pic du Cap Roux (452m/1,482ft; rewarding view) rising on the left, Le Trayas, Miramar (with a marina), La Galère (in the holiday complex of Port-la-Galère are some remarkable grotto-like houses) and Théoule-sur-Mer. Cannes is then reached via La Napoule.
