Southport (pop. 86,000), a popular seaside resort, prides itself on being England's oldest garden city. It is a town of wide tree-lined streets and beautiful parks and gardens with greenery everywhere. It is very enjoyable to walk down the colorful Lord Street or along the wide beach, with views across the Irish Sea.
