From Howden follow the A63 for a further 11mi/18km to reach Selby (population 12,000). This small town on the banks of the Ouse has many notable Georgian houses and one of the most attractive abbey churches in England, founded in 1069.

Elvington - Yorkshire Air Museum
The Yorkshire Air Museum in Elvington recreates the atmosphere of a World War II bomber airfield. It has an original control tower, aircraft displays and aviation artifacts. To complete the experience there are also photographs to view and an archive film.
