Drive through the charming small town of Kingsbury - try to visit its Cooksworthy Museum - to the village of Salcombe (pop. 2,000), which has a sheltered yacht harbor, a good sandy beach and gloriously colorful subtropical plants. The village nestles under a steep hill, from which there is a good view of the fjord-like arms of the sea which cut
into the land.
Most tourists visiting Salcombe are particularly interested in sailing and yachting. Walking the South West Coast Path is also a noted attraction.
