Newquay Attractions

Newquay (8mi/13km northeast of Perranporth; pop. 15,400) is one Cornwall's best loved resorts, its sandy beaches proving irresistible to large numbers of vacationers. Beautifully situated on the open Fistral Bay, Newquay has a great many Victorian buildings and offers a variety of interesting excursions in the surrounding area. These include visits to the remains of a ninth-11th century Celtic village at Mawgan Porth, the intriguing rock scenery of the coastal nature reserve at Bedruthan Steps, and Trerice Manor, an Elizabethan manor with a fine 16th century stucco ceiling.
