Newark (pop. 24,091) is a market town located 20mi/32km northeast of Nottingham. The town is located on the River Trent and has the River Devon running through the town.

Vina Cooke Museum of Dolls & Bygone Childhood

The Vina Cooke Museum of Dolls houses a large collection of dolls from the 18th century to the present. The collection includes toys, prams, dolls' houses, books, games, railway models, christening robes, children's and adults' costumes and various domestic artifacts.

Millgate Museum

Millgate Museum is located on the banks of the Trent River, just a short walk from Newark Castle. Exhibitions on three floors show the agricultural, industrial and social life of Newark from the Victorian times to the 1940's.
