Leominster Attractions

Leominster (pronounced Lemster; pop. 8,700), is a beautiful old wool town on the River Lugg, situated among orchards and hop fields. Leominster has a number of black and white half-timbered houses and a triple-aisled church dating from the 12th, 13th and 14th centuries. Originally belonging to a priory, the church has a Perpendicular tower over the Norman west doorway. In the north choir aisle is a ducking stool, last used in 1809, on which nagging wives were dipped in the river.
Berrington Hall
Berrington Hall is an 18th C manor house. Its exquisite interior is matched by 'Capability Brown's' lavish parklands that surround the house.

Within are excellent examples of decorative art, in the form of painted roundels and furniture from the Elmer Digby collection. Within the nursery are a number of Victorian toys and dolls while the library holds a finely painted neo-classical ceiling by Rebecca.
