Ledbury Attractions

Ledbury (pop. 3,700) is a romantic little town which makes a good base for the exploration of the Malvern Hills. It has many black and white half-timbered houses. The Market House (1633) stands on 16 oak pillars, still those of the original structure. John Masefield (1878-1967) was born in the town, and Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-61) spent part of her childhood here.
The Ledbury countryside attracts numerous tourists to enjoy the rural scenery dotted with churches and apple blossoms.
Ledbury Heritage Centre
The Ledbury Heritage Centre is housed in a late 16th century timber-framed grammar school. Its displays and artefacts capture the history of Ledbury and some of its prominent figures.
