Haslemere Attractions
Haslemere (pop. 13,900) is located 11mi/18km south of Aldershot. The town is surrounded by hills, heathland and woodland making it a popular destination for walkers and hikers. High Street in Haslemere has a variety of shops and restaurants. Wey Hill offers specialty shops.
This annual week-long festival takes place in July and includes nightly chamber concerts.
Founded in 1925, this is one of the oldest festivals in Britain.
The program focuses on works from the sixteenth to eighteenth century, and more specifically on works that are usually underplayed elsewhere. A few known works by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Telemann and their contemporaries are also added for variety.
The performances take place in Haslemere Hall as well as local churches.
