Evesham (16mi/25.6km southeast of Worcester) is a pleasant town on both banks of the Avon, in a region famous for its fruit and vegetables. The town has many half-timbered houses. Only the bell-tower (1533) and a gateway remain of a Benedictine abbey founded in 701.
Evesham is well-known for the beautiful Blossom Trail, the sight of blossoming fruit trees between late March and early May. The River Avon offers fishing and boating opportunities with footpaths along the banks of the river.
