Eccleshall Attractions

The small town of Eccleshall has arcaded houses that run along the High Street. It is also famous for its 13th C church, the Holy Trinity, which is often referred to as one of the best in Staffordshire.

Eccleshall Castle is a sandstone mansion built in 1695. On its grounds are also the ruins of a medieval castle which was the residence of the Bishops of Lichfield for 1000 years.
Norbury
Norbury is situated on the bank of the River Dove and is described in George Elliot's book 'Adam Bede' under the name of Norburne. It has an interesting church with a 14th century chancel, a variety of 14th century stained glass and the medieval tombs of the Fitzherbert family.
