Castleton Attractions

The village of Castleton (12mi/19km northeast) is beautifully situated at the western end of the Hope Valley and attracts many visitors in summer.
During the Christmas season, Castleton is noted for its display of Christmas lights and decorations. This popular tourist destination is noted for the many public footpaths that lead away from the village to the surrounding Castleton countryside.

Peveril Castle
On a rocky crag above Castleton can be seen Peveril Castle, with a massive keep dating back to 1176.
The castle offers breathtaking views of the Peak District.
