Buckingham Attractions

Buckingham (pop. 6,627) is a quiet, old town in the northwest corner of Buckinghamshire. It is approximately 20 km/12mi north of Aylesbury. As a small market town, it still holds markets every Tuesday and Saturday.

Buckingham has a medieval well which borders the town to the south and a number of 18th century buildings.

Buckingham Chantry Chapel is the oldest building in Buckingham. It is a 15th century chapel with a fine Norman doorway. The chapel was restored in 1875 by Gilbert Scott.

Stowe Landscape Gardens were developed between 1713 and 1775 and are regarded as an excellent example of Georgian Era landscaping.

They contain 32 garden temples and monuments on 580 acres.
