Bakewell Attractions
Bakewell (pop. 4,220) is a good base for extended walks in the Peak District. The village lies on the banks of the Wye, here spanned by a medieval bridge (13th century). All Saints Church (12th-14th century) contains a 13th century font and monuments of the Vernon family.
