Ashford, England Tourist Attractions

Ashford (pop. 90,900) is on the Great Stour, 20mi/32km west of Dover. There are a number of attractions such as Ashford Borough Museum, Godinton House and Gardens as well as a MK IV Tank, from the First World War.
Beech Court Gardens
The Beech Court Gardens are located in the heart of Kent on the edge of the North Downs near Ashford. They are set on previously farmed land and the owners have utilized the natural contours and features of the land.Colors are vivid from spring to autumn with azaleas, rhodendrons and 80 varieties of acers producing interest and color throughout the season.
Tenterden, England
Tenterden (pop. 6,200) still displays the prosperity brought to it over the centuries by shipbuilders, clothmakers and ironworkers. St Mildred's Church dates from the 12th century, the Unitarian Chapel was completed in 1695 and St Michael's was consecrated in 1863. The Tenterden Folk Festival is held annually on the first weekend in October.
Smallhythe Place
Smallhythe Place, a National Trust property, was home to the famous Shakespearean actress Dame Ellen Terry. She occupied this 16th C half-timbered house from 1899-1928. The collection of stage memorabilia on display in her hosue reveals the story of her life as well as other great names in theatre during her time.
South England Rare Breeds Centre
The South England Rare Breeds Centre is located on the Highlands Farm in Woodchurch (Ashford). It is an ideal attraction for children as many of the animals can be handled and fed.
