Ashford (pop. 90,900) is on the Great Stour, 20mi/32km west of Dover. There are a number of attractions such as Ashford Borough Museum, Godinton House and Gardens as well as a MK IV Tank, from the First World War.
The Beech Court Gardens are located in the heart of Kent on the edge of the North Downs near Ashford. They are set on previously farmed land and the owners have utilized the natural contours and features of the land.
Colors are vivid from spring to autumn with azaleas, rhodendrons and 80 varieties of acers producing interest and color throughout the season.

The South England Rare Breeds Centre is located on the Highlands Farm in Woodchurch (Ashford). It is an ideal attraction for children as many of the animals can be handled and fed.
