Calke Abbey
A number of treasures were uncovered by the National Trust after they acquired Calke Abbey, this casual Tudor house in 1985. A highlight is the state bed that was a wedding gift to Princess Anne and Sir Henry Harpur, fifth Baronet.

Other treasures include a beautiful harpsichord by Swiss master Burkat Shudi, a manuscript by Haydn and a collection of 17th century Chinese hangings in near perfect condition.

The Baroque mansion was built in 1701-03 in a fine landscaped setting.
