Ashbourne is a small town located near the southwestern edge of the Peak District. There is an information center in the town and several campsites in the area. Tissington Trail in Ashbourne is a recreational walking and cycling path.
The Old Manor in Norbury is National Trust property on the Derby and Stafford border. It dates back to the 13th and 15th centuries and will appeal to architectural enthusiasts.

Subury Hall is a distinctive 17th C brick house in the town of Ashbourne. It is renowned for its Great Staircase, Grinling Gibbons wood carvings, plasterwork and painted murals and ceilings by Laguerre. The gardens of Sudbury Hall now feature environmental and wildlife activities.
