Alum Bay Attractions

Alum Bay is a Mecca for geologists: the almost vertical strata of sandstone here are beautifully colored red, yellow, green and gray, and contrast strikingly with the white of the chalk cliffs. The foot of these steep cliffs can be reached by cable railroad; excursion boats wait here for passengers.

An amusement park is located at the top of the cliffs of Alum Bay with a chair lift that takes visitors to the beach below during the summer months.
