Emden - Town Hall

(Local Name: Rathaus) In the center of Emden, on the Ratsdelft (boat moorings), stands the New Town Hall, built in 1959-62 on the foundations of the old Renaissance Town Hall which was destroyed in 1944 (fine view of the town from the tower). In addition to municipal offices the Town Hall also houses the East Frisian Museum and the Municipal Armory (Rüstkammer; equipment of the old town militia, 16th-18th C.).
