Description
Susan and Theodore Crane presented the study to Samuel L. Clemens in 1874. It overlooked the Chemung River Valley. In 1952 the Mark Twain Study was moved from Quarry Farm to the Elmira College campus.

In 1983, the Center for Mark Twain Studies began offering a graduate certificate.
