Eindhoven - Van Abbe Museum
The Van Abbe Museum on Bilderdijklaan 10 is one of the most important galleries of modern art in the Netherlands. The collection was bequeathed to the city of Eindhoven by the cigar manufacturer Henri van Abbe in 1936, but it was not possible to open the museum until after the end of World War II. The museum was enlarged in 1978. The collection now consists mainly of works by modern painters, in particular Marc Chagall and the De Stijl and COBRA groups.
