Akçay

Akçay is an offshoot of Edremit, about 12km/7.5mi further west. It is one of the most popular resorts, recently attracting an increasing number of European holidaymakers. On its west side, beyond the thermal baths (ruins of a Roman baths) are the rather scant remains of ancient Astyra in the Troas, a colony of ancient Adramittium (Edremit) with a Temple of Artemis Astyrene. Akçay's natural springs (Artemis Sofbanlari) offer treatment for gynecological and other complaints.
