The charming Bard Residence and Carriage House is where the Lieutenant Governor's staff once lived and the state coach was housed. It is a fine example of the architecture in Edmonton prior to World War 1.
Bard, an American who moved to the Edmonton area in the late 1800s and was an Indian agent. He lived in this house until 1938.
In the surrounding parkland will be found some excellent sculptures by Canadian artists. Also worthy of note are the totem-pole erected here in 1983 and a massive fossilized tree-trunk.
Other historical buildings have been preserved to the east of the Provincial Museum.
The Bard Residence and Carriage House is privately own and off limits to the public but for those walking
