Spring Parade Description
(Local Name: Springprozession) This annual event is held on Whitsun Tuesday (the Tuesday following Pentecost). The unique dancing parade pays tribute to saint Willibrod, who established an abbey in the town in 658 A.D. Pilgrims come from all over the world to participate in the procession.

The whole day is not dedicated to religion, however, and many "merry-making" events are also offered.
