East St Croix - Point Udall

This barren spot is Point Udall, the easternmost location of all U.S. territory. The U.S. Virgin Islands government paved the road to the point and built a monument to the millennium here, as well as staging a large millennium party in order to be the first spot in the U.S. to welcome 2000.

Excellent vistas of the ocean and isolated beaches can be seen from Point Udall, which rises 225ft/69m. Steep hiking trails lead down the south side of the point to the beaches where visitors can sunbathe or snorkel in private.
