Description
25km/15mi west of East London is the Bridle Drift Dam, an artificial lake formed by a dam on the Buffalo River (reached by way of Mount Coke Road). The lake and surrounding area are now a nature reserve with an area of 580ac/1,435ac. There are facilities for surfing and boating on the lake (canoes available for hire), and in the nature reserve visitors can observe antelopes and gazelles, as well as large numbers of water birds.
